I'd assume your Android tablet has a mini or micro HDMI port?  From what I've 
heard, the consumber grade adapters that go from HDMI to VGA are not very 
reliable... and fail to work reliably 2/3rds of the time.

If you are using Linux, most distributions / desktop environments have a 
Display settings widget of some sort that makes it easy to change your 
resolution dynamically.  My experience with recent versions of Fedora has been 
that I just plug it in and it gets detected and I can either mirror have have a 
second display.

I would assume so.  That's what I always did.

This has always been an issue for everyone at every conference I've been to... 
but hopefully since it's a new facility with (one would assume) new 
projectors... it should be closer to trouble-free than ever... but I'm just a 
guy in Montana who I'm sure they don't appreciate speaking for them. :)
