Actually I liked the prologue.  I have of course read book 7 but I don't
think it really hurts.  Its not pages and pages long and it is just long
enough to establish Dudly's age, and softening of attitude.  What I think
gets long is when people insist on retelling the entire start of the ranma
epoch from china word and line by line this avoids that and so I think its
alright.
