In the previous post where I had stated removing the <Stream
viewport1.swf>...</Stream> had caused the program to go away I had also deleted
the /tmp/feed1.ffm file.
When I restored the viewport1.swf stream the problem did not return.
After I had a chance to sleep on this I realized the problem actually comes from
the /tmp/feed1.ffm file.

Apparently, that file had gotten corrupted.
I have attached a corrupted version of that file which causes similar bad 
behavior.
Note that it doesn't cause exactly the same behavior I reported but it does
cause ffserver to hang when feeding it via http.
