For anyone else who also wants to unsubscribe see the signature in each mailing list message which basically says: To unsubscribe, visit <https://ffmpeg.org/mailman/listinfo/ffmpeg-user>, scroll down to bottom of page, enter email address in the last box, and click the button labeled "Unsubscribe or edit options".
