People are stupid. Each person is stupid in their own way. I'm somewhat
stupid about Linux and I'm very stupid about how to make money in the stock
market. Other people might be smart about the stock market and Linux - and be
stupid about music and Windows, two subjects that I know a lot about.

If people get cursed for their stupidity, that usually doesn't encourage them
to educate themselves about the matter they're stupid about. Toxic replies can
make people abandon the Linux community completely. That's what I did the last
time I was subjected to similar behaviour.

The world needs more kindness and love, not toxicity. It gets enough toxicity
from us when we're short of sleep, in a bad mood, under stress, etc. Please be
kinder to each other.

All the best,
Marc Erickson

Reindl,

I'm subscribed to mailing lists that you regularly post to (ffmpeg-user &
systemd-devel).

The manner (negative and condescending) in which you communicate isn't helpful
to those you reply to and it isn't helpful to those who read your emails.

Please reconsider how you interact with the rest of the communities you are a
part of.

Cordially,

-m

Un, no they're not, nor to understand what it means and *whether*
it's relevant.

what exactly is hard to understand in teh word "error"?

* everybody is born to realize that "Try again from the top, git
clone a fresh working copy" is idiotic -
No they're not, and yet we're always telling people to pull the
latest and try that....Hmm, pick one.

yeah, another idiotic bullshit here, not read and not understand but
shout "pull the latest" while a trained monkey could realize that
"--enable-gnutls" and "gnutls not found" belong together

the only sane advive would have been "remobe any --enable you don't
understand and in doubt replace it with --disable/--without"

if you are missing something later you can always enable whatever but
starting with "--enable everything" is dumb, no matter what

* the error message was even clear
If you actually understand it.

understand the word "error" is a good begin

* using "sudo" in front of everything is idiotic and not relevant
to ffmpeg,
Idiotic? maybe not. Unwise and unnecessary, probably.

it's idiotic type "sudo" and if it#s only because you have more to
type

Face it, Reindl, no one is as smart as you or has as much insight or
experience as you do and they never will. You can either be a help
people learn or you can be an ass. All of your emails suggest the latter.

Heck, _you_ might even learn something in the process

i learned that this world is lost
