I can't believe you dropped ffserver. Don't get me wrong, it was JUNK, but at least it could be made to work, with a lot of trial and error. The suggested "replacement" mkvserver_mk2 is absolute dogshit; completely useless. I can't find any other software for Linux that will let me stream MJPEG off my capture card, transcode/filter to MPEG, then stream to HTTP.
