Please be aware that only some 15 countries in the world are considered F&M
free .... as we were until someone illegally imported contaminated products
...

The disease is endemic in Asia, Africa and South America....

SO ANY RESTRICTIONS YOU ARE LOOKING AT FOR EUROPE SHOULD ALSO BE APPLIED TO
THE OTHER COUNTRIES AS WELL....

Our situation is very public at present ... some of you know of what it was
like when other countries had outbreaks in recent decades ...

Press freedom and a government giving a lot of information means we are open
to world scrutiny ..I wish other countries were too....

Accurate information including all the gory details is freely available from
UK Gov site at

http://www.maff.gov.uk/animalh/diseases/fmd/default.htm

There is also a link to THE International centre of information at
http://www.oie.int/eng/maladies/fiches/A_A010.HTM

Many experts are offering opinions ... there is accurate information
available through the above...

Robin

PS we have one of only two boars of the Tamworth Yorkshireman blood line (as
well as our prize sheep.... so we have set up the best barriers we can...

Some may like to look at the rams ...
In the midst of all the challenges ... we had worst snow storm in 30 years
and power cut ...(lost nearly all of a Tamworth litter from our very rare
boar ... no heat lamps) we then had to get to see the Shetland rams out in
their filed .. only 500 yards away but took an hour to get there and back
... but what a delight to see them bounce across the snow ..!!!
We try to breed them so they can go back to Shetland ... and survive ...

take a look at the pic
