Have to admit, I wouldn't spin or knit the sweater on the Spin-Off Spring 2001 cover. For one thing I am not the greatest knitter - most of my spinning is geared either for sale or for future use at this point. (I have a work schedule from h*ll). Additionally, I am a male spinner and I don't think I would look very good in that design! I agree with the lister who wrote that feedback to Interweave would be a good thing. My guess is that they are trying to bring Spin-Off Mag. kicking and screaming into the new millenium and thus we are seeing format changes, exclamation points, and models on the cover (I kindof like covers without models as someone else mentioned). I enjoyed most of the articles in this issue but I have to say that I tend to skip the ones that trumpet "make this xxxx" featuring "large projects. (Wrist warmers are ok, I guess). I do enjoy the instructional articles, or articles that make me think about spinning techniques, terms and the greater fiber community (I guess I mean fairs, guilds and lists). One thing is apparent, this controversy has stimulated our list into a discussion of what we like about our art/craft, of what we would feature if we wrote a "Make this xxx" article, and how we use (or don't use) Spin Off as a resource. I am grateful to Dee Dee for starting the ball rolling! It is discussions like this where we learn about each other and about our art/craft. And yes,once more, we should contact Interweave and convey our feedback or if they are on the list, to take note.
