Actually, this problem is not because the fibers "slipped from each other".
This is due to the fact that alpaca, like most other exotics, has no
elasticity. With the weight of the garment, the fibers stretch and grow and
do not remember where they are supposed to be. Wool in a blend with
exotics, contributes much needed elasticity and will prevent the garment
from growing out of shape. It does not act as "cement" to hold together an
insufficiently spun yarn. You will still need to spin for the fiber length,
yarn diameter, and end use. A structurally unsound yarn will not hold
together better just because it has wool blended with it.
