Hi Y'all, Where I come from they are called pokeberries. We used to use them to make play 'cool-aid' for our play houses. They are toxic, so don't drink the juice or eat the berries. However, I have heard of folk remedies using them to treat arthritis (not documented). Also people used to eat the leaves as poke salad after leaching them with something (I don't know what) to get the alkaloid toxins out. I had heard that the dye was fugitive. Glad someone has found a way to make it more permanent.
Peace. Debra __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Send your FREE holiday greetings online! http://greetings.yahoo.com To stop mail temporarily mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: set nomail To restore send: set mail
