Coming out of lurkdom to wish everyone the best of what life has to offer in
2002.....What a blessing this fiberart is! When everything is dark and cold
outside and my livestock is taken care of for the night, I light the
woodstove and sit close to it and spin, spin, spin. I am knitting a sweater
for my daughter and she can't wait to show it to her friends at college,
explaining that the yarn was raised and spun by her mother.

I am trying to get all my bunnies groomed before I go back to work on Jan. 2.
They are fairly bursting with wool, and I am reminded what a joy this angora
is. Every handful falls into the hatbox and I pick them up to spin just like
that, unwashed and uncarded. The draft is heavenly and when plied with wool
- yarn to die for!

I live on an overgrown Christmas tree farm and have been giving branches of
evergreen to my sheep and goats. Hope it is okay for them because they LOVE
it!

Happy New Year....

Maggie Alexander
