Hi Christy,

The blanket edge salvages are available from Pendleton Woolen Mills in OR
and in NB. Check with their outlet stores for availability. I believe they
will do mail order, but you take what you get and that can be a real hodge
podge. I got some from the NB store a few months ago that had a lot of
orange in it. I overdyed the material with
ProChem Acid dye and the orange turned to a yellow green, much more
appealing.

Your daughter should be able to overdye the beige yarn if she uses a darker
color. It shouldn't muddy it too much if it is really light beige. Be sure
to skein it off and tie it loosely in several places. After dyeing, wash in
hot soapy water to remove the excess dye. I usually shock my yarns with a
very cold last rinse to pre-shrink them before making anything with them.
