Shirley, I see what you are saying. I guess I might be doing about the same thing when I go down a few sizes to knit my homespun. I knit an inch or two and measure stitches per inch until I like what I have. perhaps we could all just have one set of 00 needles and knit everything, but I do like my bamboo needles and they are a bit fragile if they get too small.
