Hi! Is anybody else frantically weaving/knitting/crocheting/felting/dyeing gifts for tomorrow? Ho ho ho! Nothing like the last minute to spur motivation.
I'm weaving a "reading shawl" for my dad. Saw these in a few catalogs, and thought I'd try it - basically a wide scarf with pockets at the end. I'm using 8/2 cotton warp and tabby weft, and cotton chenille in a small overshot type pattern from the Bress book. I even did a sample of this and threw it in the washer and dryer to make sure the chenille (cotton, mind you, not rayon!) would behave in an overshot, and it did just fine. Wishing you all a wonderful fiber-filled holiday season! I hinted at some dyes from my sweetie, we'll see..... (those cool Setacolor sun sensitive ones where you dye your fabric, lay stuff on top of it to act as a resist (like leaves or whatever shapes you like) and put it in the sun and voila! Very cool stuff. I've been collecting confetti in various interesting shapes - including some goat-shaped confetti from the Oregon Flock & Fiber fest! too fun. Happy ho ho Diane in overcast Oregon To stop mail temporarily mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: set nomail To restore send: set mail
