Yep, that was me :) My son requested woven napkins for Christmas, and I didn't get them done before the boys drove up from Austin for the holiday, so they got to pick out the weft color and 'approve' the pattern I had already chosen :) Had all kinds of problems. It's been at least 3 years since I last wove any commercial yarn, and this loom of mine was always something of a lemon. In case anyone has dealt with a particular problem I had.... I use 16/2 cotton for the hems to reduce bulk (where the warp and main weft is 8/2). I've never had problems with that before, but this time the weft was breaking along the selvages, leaving tiny fuzzy tails of yarn sticking out along with little gaps that messed up the smoothness of the selvages awfully. I didn't have any significant problems with the selvage while weaving with the 8/2--they were reasonably smooth, etc, after the first couple napkins. I was using a floating selvage because the pattern was a 2 block reversing 1/3-3/1 twill, but didn't have any problems with the float, either. I got the last napkin woven at 10:30 pm Christmas Eve :) But I left it on the loom because I wanted to use the last of the warp as a small runner or something, to be a gift to the friend of our sons who wrapped the gifts they brought us. She has a hobby of wrapping gifts with fancy paper and lovely bows, and I couldn't let that pass without some sort of exchange. I think she must be a budding fiberist who doesn't know it yet :) Holly To stop mail temporarily mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: set nomail To restore send: set mail
