The Spring 2002 Spin-Off had an article on the people who made the fabric for the movie from their own sheep. I contacted them and ordered a couple of fleeces.

It's a breed called a Stansborough Gotland, a fine curly fleece with very clear gray colors. I got one light gray ad one charcoal. Their fleece prices were very reasonable--but we won't discuss the shipping cost from New Zealand!!
