<<Ann, who is about three yards into *finally* weaving her cloak>>

Tell us how it's going! Usually three yards are enough to let you know
whether your warp was good or bad :)

Pretty good, considering that this is my first warp of any size (33" wide, 10 yards long) of handspun singles. Four yards now and only three warp breaks (two of those in the first yard).

The design is an undulating twill, but with with a tabby shot betwee each
pattern shot so the effect is *very* subtle. The weft has been spun at
various times--about 2000 yards of it on a spindle during my daily lunch
walks, the rest so far on wheel. I'm pretty consistent, considering that,
but even a little difference can really show up. I'm averaging out the
differences by mixing the weft--when I fill bobbing, I fill each one from a
different ball of weft, and I'm weaving with two shuttles--two picks of
one, two picks of the other.
