It's not that they don't molt, they were never given a chance. The
ingenious Germans used machinery to shave the bunnies, and harvest the fur.


Germans were brought over to the U.S., and then bred here. They were
crossed with the other angora breeds, for various reasons. The way I've
heard the story, is that they were finally accepted as a breed apart from
the rest of the Angora breeds, in the mid to late 1990s.

Let me hasten to add, that does not mean that I disbelieve your statements.
The purebred animal world is full of various information on how breeds came
about. The info makes for very interesting and informative reading. :)
