I don't know whether this idea has been mentioned but if you didn't just want to give it away - even to a charity re-user place. Then maybe you could initiate a program within your group/guild/club to get some projects done that you then gave away to local selected needy.
In my patchwork/quilting group they have what is called Community Quilts - an ongoing project. The quilts are given away in large lots or small lots to people in need. Maybe a hostel for disabled kids/adults - the local hospital for sick children - a disaster where many people lose their homes or whatever.
Last year my own sp/wv guild did a couple of projects - premmie baby gear in handknits, shawls for stillborns and knitted peggy squares for a hospital in a poorer area.
