I love the sleeping policeman's comment about "like sitting next to his Mom"...what a great feeling that must have given you and the policeman! Some memories are held dear forever. It is fun, watching people's faces as they watch you with your fibers. I took my knitting with me to a conference last year and was sitting with some of the wives in the lounge of the hotel while the men were meeting and it was like a magnet! One lady, a friend, ended up driving me to a yarn shop that afternoon so that I could help her pick out yarn for a project; she had been a knitter years ago and wanted to get back into it; now, you cannot stop her; another girl came by our home later on several times to get started knitting scarves, etc. It is good to share the joy!
