Hello, I usually lurk, but now need some help! I have volunteered to teach a knitting class to Junior HS girls. The knitting part I am OK with, although of course if anyone has some pointers, I am fairly new to this game, so I would be grateful. However, my biggest concern is coming up with a great project or two that is exciting and "in", yet doesn't drive their materials fee through the roof. I have thought of a scarf or belt using some of that eyelash yarn paired with another yarn for economy's sake. Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing, and this age group? What's hot right now? I'm almost 50, and not into fashion. Argh! I have a feeling plain old natural colored wool just won't cut it with this crowd, and I want them to be inspired and keep knitting! Well, enough. Thanks to one and all, and any help would be much, much appreciated. Beth Myers Concord, CA where it's cool, wet, and quite green.
