Hi Lynn, I think the best wheel made is made by Mangus Drudik in Salem, OR. It has a swing arm that lets you change position and spin with either hand. It is double treadle and double drive. The tensioning arm is very sensitive, and have an abundance of ratios. His wheels aren't cheap and there is a waiting list to get one. I found his wheels backin the 80's when he first started making them and was fortunate to get a saxony and a castle. I use the castle all the time, but won't part with the saxony. Mine are made of myrtle wood and cherry and have aged beautifully over the years. I can't say enough good things about these wheels. Gail White, formely of Snohomish, WA
