As a person who spins right hand forward, I have to say that I find a mirror image (flyer on the right wheel) much more comfortable to use. As Holly has pointed out, if you spin long draw, you need space for the back hand to sweep backwards for drafting. A left flyer has not ever given me problems in this regard. What does bother me about flyer to the left wheels is that no matter how I angle my body to the wheel there is always some part of it that is twisted at an odd angle to the wheel for me to spin comfortably. When I angle the wheel so my back is straight, then I have to twist my ankle to be able to treadle and when my ankle is straight then my back is twisted. I simply can't imagine spinning on a flyer to the left DT wheel - at leat not for anything over 10-15 minutes at a time. The only way to be absoultely certain that you will be comfy spinning on any wheel is to try it first. Not always possible. Especially not with mirror image wheels since they are few and far between. I do have one (Reeves Norwegian) and it is very comfy to use and the flyer to the right set up does not interfer with drafting long draw. But there is an option you're overlooking here - upright or castle wheels. They have the flyer mounted right in the center either above or below the drive wheel and this allows the spinner to have either hand forward with equal comfort. Same thing with electric wheels - you can basically set them in any position you want for spinning comfort.
