This thread reminded me of some advice that Rachael Emmons gave us in a spinning class years ago. When spinning mohair, she suggested we lightly pass the spun yarn above our upper lip to test the feel of it. Wirey mohair feels quite prickly and stiff when tested this way, and she was teaching us to use as little twist as practical in order to make a yarn that would hold together but still be soft.........
