Hi Carla, Your animal is a combination of long wooled breeds and a double coated breed. His micron is going to be somewhere in the 30's, which is bordering on coarse wool. He is not going to be as soft or have less prickle factor than a Corriedale, Targhee or other medium wooled animal. The wool may feel soft, but the fibers themselves will not bend when touching the skin, but remain stiff, and "prick" the wearer. I would try a different wool for your sweater.
