>WOW! Lucky friend! I second that vote! I have a 40" 8-shaft Gilmore with the matching bench I bought used about 5 years ago. This loom is an absolute workhorse; I've woven 32epi cotton as well as rugs - as far as I'm concerned I can do anything that takes 8 shafts. I'm going to leave it to somebody in my will - I don't think I'll ever sell it, as I don't think I could ever find one as well made that I could afford. I figure it's somewhere between 25 and 30 years old. I love; absolutely LOVE the ratchet style brake! - and I have a trick to not let the sectional beam go into a spin when you press the ratchet release with your foot - email me if you want a description!
