The Northern Michigan Lamb & Wool Festival is reorganizing a bit--some of the volunteer leadership is burned out, and they're asking for others to step in to help keep this wonderful little festival alive.
There will be a meeting at the home of Jim Bristol in West Branch on Sunday, December 5th, at 3 pm. Email me privately if you need directions. Some of the specific jobs (many of which can be done via email, hint, hint! :) they're looking to find volunteers for include: Advertising the festival--both regional and in venues popular with fiber folk Getting advertisements in the festival booklet Putting together the festival booklet Managing the vendors--reservations, space assignments, trouble-shooting, etc Staffing the entrance to the fairgrounds And probably other jobs as we find out who wants to step down and who is willing to continue. This festival is always the last weekend in September, in the Ogemaw County Fairgrounds. Many of the jobs can be done in advance, leaving you free to even attend that Mt Bruce Station thing if you want <g> I hope if you live anywhere in northern lower or eastern upper Michigan, you'll contact me with an offer of help (I'm trying to round up new volunteers), because this is the nicest fiber festival I've ever been to, and the most beautiful fair grounds, and the northernmost such festival in Michigan we're likely to have--so let's support it!
