Up until a few months or more ago I had no where to be or not to much of where to be. Now I'm in the process of developing a new life for myself geared around fibrecrafts which has lead me down some interesting byways as I re-learn me to live again with much better health.

First of all I realised I was pretty unfit so I set about dealing with that area only and I've now progressed to a full gym membership with a personal trainer. I've lost a goodly amount of weight which was proved quite dramatically yesterday when I went to buy some underwear that only women in the main wear and found I had dropped 6 sizes! I didn't actually intend to lose a great deal of weight I was more interested in getting fit but that OK as well :-)

Then as I became fitter I found I was sleeping better therefore I was managing better energy wise etc during the day. OK right now the humidity is affecting sleeping but I have a short nap after 2ish most days. I also found I had more energy hence able to do craft work in a smarter way.

I have in string each day except Sat/Thurs where I do other things. And of course some other days when I can't get to the Gym for some reason or other. Get up a 7am everyday [even when I don't want to], breakfast and stuff until 8ish. Computer on and upto about 9ish checking and replying. Seeing if sales have been made etc.

about 10am phone my friend at work "are you going to gym and what time?" then get on the 11am bus even if he isn't and go direct to Gym. If he is going get off near his work and wait for lift and our short chat. He is very supportive about what I'm attempting to do and is with me all the way on it. I get back from Gym about 2ish. OK that seems like a long time but there is a delay of 40mins if I miss the bus coming back and the trip back is 20mins bus and another 10mins walk time to home. In that period I have personal space to muse, read, write in notebook.

at about 3ish I hit the workshop and depending on what I'm up to - do it. Yesterday I was "finding" all the carpet wool that someone is coming to look at this arvo and maybe buy some. I stay there until about 6ish although I might come up for banana break just as change of scene. I might do some dyeing or weaving.

About 8.30ish - 10ish after dinner/TV/other will hit the upstairs room where my electronic spinner lives along with other stuff.

However this Friday at noon I'm being interviewed by The Aucklander about how I have used the Green Prescription which is a gov't incentive to get people active for whatever reason. Sometimes the person is referred by the doctor but I actually asked to be referred as I needed some hints and tips about fitness/nutrition in general and from there I have progressed along. I still go to GP but only go for the things I'm not getting elsewhere like speakers and the interaction of the friends. Most are elderly who for one reason or other have got there. A good cross section of sizes, genders, ethnic groups, ages.

So I was flexible on the interview time but not the guys that are my support people. My gym buddy mentioned above, the Personal Trainer and the GP local organiser who all happen to be guys :-)

So yes I'm not your average person in this caper but up until a year ago I was in semi-retired mode and didn't ever expect to get better or better than the mess I was in. So it's fun having this all happen to me - no rush but still often wanna run instead of walking.
