I've had success getting rid of moths by washing infected pieces in very hot water with twice the amount of detergent (either dish detergent or washing powder for woolen things). Don't agitate the cloth in the bath, just let it soak a while. Get it out and rinse as usual. I've had moths in a doll, that was made for me by an old lady 25 years ago. It was a simple knitted tube, sewn to shape and filled with wool. I had the larvae and eggs everywhere in it.
Other possibly infected pieces, that can't be washed, were put in a plastic bag which I place in the deep freezer for a week or two. The cold will render eggs, larvae and animals harmless.
