None of the sheep have shared fence lines. I have two large pastures
and a barn separating the pasture of rams from the breeding pasture of
ewes and the chosen ram. The rams that are together in a pasture have
destroyed a fence that was made of 4x4 wood posts spaced 8' apart with
three 2x6 boards which 4x4 "hog wire" was tacked to. And the
galvanized gate is toast. Where they were knocking down boards and
posts, we pounded in t-stakes and attached 16' panels of welded wire.
They've bent the t-stakes over and bent the panels which also popped
some of the welds.
My BWM ram that is now 1-1/2 yrs old is in a 12x12 stall in the barn
with a merino ram lamb as a buddy. He's pretty destructive too.
Its like they just need to bang their head for no reason. Like a cat
sharpening its claws, they bang their head against anything just to
"stay in shape." Its just "a little workout."
So... anyone else? What is working for your rams? We'll be replacing
this fenceline once we get a good rain to soften the ground. So, I've
got to come up with something soon!

However you set up your ram pens, with whatever fencing, I'd definitely
suggest a corridor between pens - no shared fencelines for rams.
Helps with
some of the bashing when they're in the mood and is great for moving
them
around when you need to.
