Subject: NH Sheep and Wool Festival May l3 and l4
Hello all fiber lovers! This message is to let you know that traditional
rug hooking will be offered at the NH Sheep and Wool Festival for the very
first time. It is a beginners' class from l pm to 3 or 3:30 pm on
Saturday
in one of the many instruction areas. For anyone who is coming and has
never put their hand to hook and backing and woolen strips, here is your
opportunity! Class cost is $20, plus $25 for the kit. The kit will
provide
backing with a sheep oriented design, custom hand dyed woolens already cut
into strips, and lots of directions and information for finishing the
piece,
plus list of resources. Anyone taking the class will need to bring a
sharp
pair of embroidery scissors and a l2 to l4" quilting hoop if you have one.
Hoops will be provided at the class too, plus a selection of rug hooks to
borrow or buy. The Festival has been trying for a long time to find a rug
hooking teacher who would be willing to teach this class, and it is I!
Registration in advance is preferred, but walk ins will be welcomed too!
