Hello,
The trick is the seal on the top - if it isn't done right the air leaks in. It is very hard to tell by looking if the zip lock top is closed all the way.
I have some left over milk replacer in one and wool in another.
Time will tell if it is going to do what I want - but so far it is holding.

I bought some of those bags. Once the air is out of the bags, they make a small compact shape. I managed to get 4 fleeces into one of the large bags. As I walked out of the wool room, beaming because I had 4 fleeces down to the size of large sweater bag, I could hear air going back into the bags.

This happened with all the bags I bought. I bought them straight from the company. Perhaps I didn't handle the bags the way they should have been handled. I was just really disappointed. I don't know how other people manage to store the bags, w/o causing small tears in the plastic, that allows air in.
