Well, I finally sent an email to Handwoven. I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I hadn't had a subscription for years & decided last year to subscribe. I was horribly disappointed. I hate how they pick a topic then do it to death!!! ie: pets, black & white, the next issue on overshot, etc. From the pets issue, I found nothing to entice me. Ditto with the latest black & white issue. More often than not, when they show the alternative 4H info, there's no picture to see how it will look woven on 4H rather than 8H or more.

I also got really tired of the notices to subscribe in the mail every few weeks. Why do those notices keep telling me I need to subscribe when I already am? What a waste of money!! Then the black & white issue came with a band on it saying it was my last issue. Nope, I still have another one before the subscription ends. That was the last straw...

Soooo, my subscription will end & I don't have any reason to subscribe again. I hope they'll take my email seriously, & not get all bent about it. I tried to be straight forward without being rude.

I'll probably do another year of SpinOff, just because I'm still a new spinner & I learn something new each issue, particularly about sheep breeds. It's pretty obviuos that they're trying to snag the knitting/crocheting/felting folks. I can figure out what to do with my handspun yarn; I don't need their help there, and the pages & pages of peoples skeins got to be really too much. After page 2, I had seen enough.

I, too, appreciated seeing an African American woman on the cover & as a model in a SpinOff. They'd make me real happy of they continued that.
