Any of the longwooled breeds are great for beginners. Long staple to
hold onto. Versatile breeds.
The Romneys, for example, have a wide choice of spinning counts within
the breed, from coarse enough for weaving rugs, to fine enough (medium
wool) for wearing next to the skin.
