As others have noted, most berries yield a dull greyish color when used in the 
usual way, metal mordant, boiling water. Some fruit (prickly pear) will given 
stunning color when done by sun and fermentation in glass, ceramic or plastic. 
The key seems to be; absolutely no metal and no boiling. And it takes days to 
weeks so it could be a fermentation process.
Don't know if this will work with mulberries, which, in my experience both here 
in Arizona and as a kid in Chicago, grow to be really, really large trees. I 
wouldn't plant one as a dye plant but if you want one for other reasons, go for 
it, and maybe try a slower, cooler, metal-free dye process later.
