I have a stick of gall soap I bought from Real Goods many years ago. They stopped selling it for some reason. It works wonders on stains, especially of "biological" origin such as sweat stains and blood stains. I think I bought it because when I used to live in New Hampshire, the deer flies would bite me while I was running. I wouldn't notice it until they had taken a good chunk of skin away and there would be blood staining my shirt! I have never had any problems with the soap affecting dyed fabric. I have used it on cotton shirts I had dyed with Rit dye. I haven't tried it on dyed wool, but it does not seem to affect naturally-colored wool.

Thanks to those who gave some links to where more can be purchased! I have been using mine sparingly because I thought I would never find it again!
