Yes this is a problem where sheep bred for a drier climate are in a wetter area .. We see this with some of the Texels here and the Down breeds as well. Climate is one of the reasons the British breeds of sheep change every so many miles East to West in UK ... I think on one traverse of England the breed changes every 30 miles.
