I am very surprised to read that sheep poop is an environmental problem.
Actually sheep scatter it naturally and it helps to replace the nutrients
and minerals that the sheep take off the pasture. We use it to grow our
vegetable garden and flower beds.
If one believes that sheep poop is a problem, then it would be a very good
idea to eliminate the million-odd white tailed deer that live in our state.
A recent study showed that water pollution in the Chesapeake Bay was mostly
due to wild animals such as deer, beaver and waterfowl
(http://www.bayjournal.com/article.cfm?article=548). Using chemical
fertilizers on lawns was another big contributer.
Wool is recycleable, biodegradable, flame retardant, can be rooed or shorn
without ANY injury to the animal and can be permanently dyed with FOOD SAFE
colors plus vinegar.
