Grace-
I received a call from a young woman in IL yesterday...she had found my
website and I guess thought I was some kind of "sheep expert" : )
She had a yearling Polypay ewe, lambed 3 months ago, was acting as though
she was about to lamb again at any moment...very lethargic, some edema in
front of the udder, very sunken looking (later she told me this has been
going on for about 3 weeks)- my first question was when was the last time
the ewe was dewormed? She said "we don't deworm because our sheep don't
have worms"! Of course, I told her gently that all sheep have worms, and my
advice was to call her vet, or at least take a manure sample to him/her.
