I would spread the word about this seller. I have been selling fiber  
for about 10 years now. I make certain that the fiber is DRY when I  
weigh it - I found out early on that freshly sheared fleeces tend to  
weigh more due to sweat/ambient air conditions etc. I always bring my  
fleeces in and let them dry for at least a couple of weeks before I do  
any measuring/weighing. This seller should also have 'warned' any  
buyers about the VM!

Alpaca in my area runs $2-$5/ounce depending on if it is the prime  
blanket or 'seconds'. From the sound of it the seller you bought from  
did not holdout the neck area, but mixed the entire fleece into this  
processed stuff.
