Just the fact that motor oil is designed for high temperature, high  
contact pressure between surfaces as in an internal combustion engine.

I'll bow to Schacht.  I'll also try to remember to ask Barry at the

Who can argue with success? That said, the black must be from ground up  
metal or something else in the bearing, so that would bother me a bit
