for me>>

Don't be scared :) I've never done pickup before, being always more
interested in loom-controlled weaving--fast and easy! But between
seeing some of Kati Meek's damask and draw-loom stuff, and the pick-up
that can kind of imitate it, and then wanting to do a fall-colored table
runner with a leafy pattern, I figure it's about time to try some pick-up.

There was a lovely project in an old issue of Handwoven, of a jacket
with fall-colored stripes on one side, and pick-up of leaves on the
shoulder. If I find I can do this little bit of experimental pick-up on
the doubleweave tool holder, then I'll be getting that issue out and
drawing leaves for my table runner.

So, I'm trying something small with few risks, before committing lots of
expensive materials into my eventual project.
