Hi Nina,
I have heard of using zippered pillowcases from some alpaca breeders.
I just went on line and found some reasonable ones and then really
found some reasonable ones on Overstock.com
http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/230-TC-Pillow-Protectors-case-of-12/2039825/product.html

They are $29.99 for 12 whether they are standard pillow size or
kingsize. I bought 2 batches of king. (Limited quantity on the king
size.) The price was right and the shipping minimal- $2.95. The
thread count is 230 and I did find some that were more but also more
than twice the price.

I have put a few fleeces in the freezer but before seeing moths to
save. I don't seem to have problems in the barn storing newly shorn
fleeces and even those a few years old if I have them. I store in
black yard bags and don't close tightly- its the drawstring
arrangement on them. Nothing ever seems to bother them and I store
in a place that gets light. I seem to have more problems storing in
dark places. Baskets are terrible and sitting on the wooden studio
floor is a prescription for disaster.

If anyone is interested in some of the other sources for the pillow
protectors, let me know and I will post. But for the money the
overstock Bulk Item is perfect. (I hope).

Jane

PS Nina I'm headed to Maine the last weekend in May and will email
off list about a visit.
