Hot water will also kill all stages of moths, eggs, larvae and adult. We occasionally get buggy fiber in the mill. If it really bad it doesn't come inside it goes to the garbage. If it's just a few casings, we go ahead and wash it immediately in 160 degree water, detergent, etc. The bugs will die in water over 120 degrees. Most home heaters will go to 140.
The sheepskins can go to the dry cleaners, wether they're tanned for washing or not. The chemicals and hot solution will kill the critters. A spraying 7 days apart in the house will get anything that is still alive. Gail White
