protecting the natural cultural heritage, paper-based materials, and other
materials like photographs and audio-visual records
* To hone the librarian's skills in basic paper preservation and
conservation
* To show the librarians that they play a big role in "preserving" the
impact
of the library and books in the business of gathering, organizing, and storing
information and data
* To explain the issues related to digital archiving and the
preservation of
library/archival materials
