I have had exellent results scanning Potra160nc and vc.
I note from your setup you are using fillflash, and with a set up whenI I
have  been shooting against the light and filling the face etc with flash
the scans from any programe are flat in the mid tone range. Fiddling in PS
helps but the result is never as good as a conventioanl photo print.
I wish I new why!
