No, it has not been "moved to the top". It has been removed from the message, and a URL has been added in the List-Unsubscribe header. Those who are reading their email on a system that renders the info from that header in HTML will see it as a link (perhaps at the top, but not necessarily); those who are reading their email in plain text can find the code hiding among the headers -- but it is far from obvious, and even when they find it, they have to either go to their browser and be logged on to access the link, or else be savvy enough to interpret the mailto code. This whole issue is not unlike the one about posting in HTML, including the part where people enter the discussion assuming that what appears on their screen also appears on everyone else's. Looking at the header information, one can clearly see that the new scheme is oriented toward those who read e-mail on a browser-based system, so that messages from the list will look like little web pages with a list of links for replying, subscribing, and accessing the archives. This is fine as far as it goes -- in fact, I rather like seeing all the information there in the headers -- but I hope it doesn't portend further change down the road in which we plain-text readers are left behind altogether. mdl _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
