Sorry, that I forgot to tell this in my first reply: As you have reported to have gotten a new computer very recently, there might be a much simpler explanation fro your problem: If you have moved the old computer, the internal plugging of the drive might have come loose. It might be the power supply or the SCSI or even both. Shortly after I bought my present PowerMac, I had to move it. It went dead. The SCSI plug had come loose. Quite easily remedied despite my very large hands and fingers.
