Have you tried just deleting (and recreating) the bad profile?

If you do reinstall, all that stuff doesn't get overwritten, preferences 
get saved, etc., but just in case, I'd suggest making a backup of at least 
your bookmark file.

I had Netscape 6 running on a '98 machine, so it should run on ME.
