Hi Crystal,

Remember, a MIDI file contains no sound, in and of itself. It just
contains data that triggers some MIDI instrument. I don't know anything
about Ultra Recorder, but it's my understanding that conversion of a
standard MIDI file to aiff requires digitally recording the MIDI, and
that some MIDI instrument is needed in order to do this, even if it's
QuickTime Music Instruments, which would get you less than desirable
results. The volume level of the instrument(s) used for MIDI playback
would need to be adjusted in order to get a desirable playback level in
the aiff file.
